Animated Popeye Movie Coming From Smurfs Writers...

Sony pictures has hired 'The Smurfs' screenwriters Jay Scherick and David Ronn to write the screenplay for a brand new animated movie version of Popeye 3D!

Both Scherick and Ronn have already worked on a Smurfs sequel and have even penned the upcoming Baywatch adaptation (yep, there's a Baywatch movie coming) but Popeye is a really exciting prospect for me as I grew up watching the cartoon a hell of a lot and if the technology from something like Tintin can be used to produce it then we could potentially have a really cool adaptation and I'm actually looking forward to it!

I'm a huge fan of the first two Underworld movies (not the third) so I'm totally psyched that the 4th instalment is almost out (Jan 2012) and Kate Beckinsale is back in her tight leathers once again!

Tron Legacy's Garrett Hedlund Offered Role Of Kaneda In Akira Movie?

It would seem that now that the live-action Akira movie is back on track a few bits of news have been leaking about who will star in what could potentially be an amazing, or amazingly bad, remake of the classic 1988 Anime movie.

Garrett Hedlund of Tron Legacy has officially been offered the lead role of Kaneda but as of this moment he hasn't yet accepted the part. I think that's a pretty cool bit of casting, if he accepts, and I can't think of many American actors who would be the right age or look to pull of the highly Americanised version.

The other news is that the studio also want Gary Oldman, Helena Bonham Carter and Keira Knightly in as yet unknown roles.

Looking forward to this, no matter how many people I know are definitely not!

Doctor Who Cast & Crew Perform Proclaimers Song - Video

The cast and crew of Doctor Who performed this special rendition of The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" for the end of David Tennant's tenure as the Doctor.

It was watched at the wrap party with all the cast and crew and now by everyone on the internet. :)
